HOW IT'S AFFECTING OUR OCEAN
Climate Change is affecting our climate patterns, such as, more rain, drought, fires, very cold, lots of snow, or very hot weather. These changes in the climate are affecting people and our oceans too!
Sometimes we don’t see the harmful affects in the ocean unless we look carefully. The Ocean is getting warmer, corals are bleaching and dying. The water in the Ocean is more acidic.
The cause is more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The carbon dioxide is made by people. People are making more and more carbon dioxide every year and it is harming the Ocean. Life in the Ocean is being affected. How can we all help?
Turtle Bay Resort will host the eighth annual North Shore Ocean Fest, one of Oahu's FREE premier community events. Ocean Fest brings together top ocean educators, activities, film, ocean crafts, food vendors, live music, hula and lots of great prizes! Enjoy a free, fun-filled afternoon of ocean education for all ages.
The event also honors "World Oceans Day," celebrated annually on June 8 since 2002 to promote ocean education worldwide.
